Three Distinctive Priorities

“Our vision is to become a community conformed to Christ and used by God for spiritual formation and transformation.”

Our desire as a church is to become more and more faithful to the Good News of Jesus Christ and to become more and more like him, a people marked by faithful and caring ministry, the multiplication of disciples and leaders, and increasing spiritual growth, all of which lead to the formation of mature Christian persons and the transformation of lives, families,
our city, and the world.

A commitment to spiritual formation and  transformation that is realized.

We commit ourselves to fostering a corporate and individual life of vibrant worship, disciplined study, quiet meditation, practiced prayer, sacrificial service, and cheerful giving for the purpose of life-long growth and development in wisdom that is measured and relationships that are truthful, faithful, and loving.

A commitment to the identification and equipping of leaders that are empowered.

We commit ourselves to identify and equip leaders who can in turn lead and equip others for the works of ministry and service both within and without the church body of Oak Hills.  We will prepare these persons and empower them to lead with responsibility, authority, and accountability.

A commitment to mission to our city and world that is intentional.

We commit ourselves to reach our city and world with the Good News of Jesus Christ and to serve our neighbors near and far.  While we join with the church universal in reflecting the missional nature of the God who sends the Son and with him sends the Spirit, we carry out this mission in our own unique context, targeting the areas of business, health care, education, and our surrounding neighborhood.  We thus dedicate ourselves to means of mission and service that are creative, caring, and assessed.
