Our Mission

Our mission is to fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) by making disciples, mobilizing the people of God, mentoring servant leaders of Christ, and multiplying communities of the Spirit.

Making Disciples

We make disciples as we witness to Jesus Christ in building relationships and sharing the Gospel with our family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, and others in the areas of business, the professions, education, and culture.  As they respond to the Good News of Jesus Christ and come to faith in him and into fellowship with his body, the church, we pray and work for their spiritual formation, transformation, and maturity.

Mobilizing the People of God

We mobilize the people of God as we help all believers discover their distinctive calling by God and the gifts that he has given to them through his Holy Spirit.  As these are discovered, we strive to introduce and encourage people into areas of service where these gifts are used and strengthened.  We seek to overcome the 20/80 rule, wherein 20% of church members carry out 80% of its ministries.  Our goal is to have every member of Oak Hills actively involved in ministry.

Mentoring Servant Leaders of the Body of Christ

We mentor servant leaders as we equip and empower persons to become leaders in the body of Christ, fully engaged in ministry and in leading and training others for ministry and leadership.  We desire for all believers to be equipped to be servant leaders in their homes, vocations, and communities and are committed to investing time, money, and effort toward this end.  We work towards identifying and equipping leaders from high school and college through adults and pray for the development of persons called into full-time Christian service.

Multiplying Communities of the Spirit

We multiply communities of the Spirit as we initiate and develop groups of persons both within and without our Oak Hills family which focus upon biblical study, spiritual growth, and outreach.  We strive to be a church that can multiply disciples and ministries here and throughout the world.
