Senior Pastor Jim Rutherford was born in Solvang, California (near Santa Barbara). At 13, Jim heard the Gospel and responded for the first time at Hume Lake Christian Camp. However, he didn’t start following Jesus until he was 18.  Jim graduated in 1999 from Westmont College, and from Phoenix Seminary with an M.Div. in 2003. Jim and his wife, Mecca, have two children – a son Devan born in 2006, and a daughter Elsah born in 2009. Jim came to Oak Hills in June of 2013.

 

Paul Pankratz – As Associate Pastor of Discipleship, Paul is primarily responsible for outreach, assimilation, and adult ministries at Oak Hills.  Paul encourages the church to gather in community, set intentional learning plans to grow spiritually, and develop a missional posture in each believer to go share the gospel.  Paul grew up in Minot, ND and responded to the gospel early in life.  He is married to Kelly and they have four children (Emma, Hezekiah, Levi & Olivia).  Prior to having children, Paul and Kelly were missionaries in Cambodia.  Paul is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute and Fuller Theological Seminary.  He started at Oak Hills in the fall of 2011.

 

Dave Campbell – As Associate Pastor of Student Ministries, Dave is primarily responsible for investing in the lives of middle and high school students at Oak Hills.  Dave also provides leadership to college and young adult ministries.  He loves spending time with students and hearing about their dreams, questions, and how God is at work in their lives.  Dave grew up in Missoula, MT and Sioux Falls, SD.  He has graduated from Lincoln High School in Sioux Falls, the University of Sioux Falls (2008), and Sioux Falls Seminary (2011) with a Masters of Divinity.  Dave and his wife Mikaela met in college and married in 2007.  He has been at Oak Hills since February of 2009.

 

Shelly Haan – As Director of Children’s Ministries, Shelly leads the children’s ministry at Oak Hills including Sunday school, FW Friends, Vacation Bible School, and various special events throughout the year.  She loves to see kids get excited about their faith and, as they grow, to share it with others.  Shelly grew up in Canton, SD, but calls Sioux Falls home.  She graduated from Augustana College and the University of South Dakota graduate school.  Shelly and her husband Dave have three children (Sofia, Dimitri, and Dietrich).  Shelly started volunteering in Children’s Ministry at Oak Hills in 2003 while working in the insurance industry.  Volunteering turned into a part-time job as the Children’s Director in 2007.

 

Kristi Paulsen – As Administrative Assistant, Kristi’s primary responsibility is organizing and communicating the details in and around Oak Hills.  Kristi has been working with churches for six years and loves that no two days are ever the same.  She loves creating means of communication that are effective as well as providing organization wherever needed. Kristi was born and raised in Wisconsin and have been living in Sioux Falls for 5 years. She’s been married for 6 years and has two children at home, Ethan (6) and Eleanor (5).
